Telford Canoe Club Update for Members – 4th July 2023

Unfortunately I sadly have to report that with Immediate effect the following committee members have stood down.

Nigel Evans – Chairperson

Phil Chilver – General Committee Member

Standing down from the next AGM

Paul Weale – Membership Secretary 

Keith Guilis is also looking to step down at the soonest connivence.

Under the constitution, It is possible for the committee to appoint individuals to act in any vacancy until the next AGM, however, due to the majority of the committee no longer wishing to continue I feel it best that we have an informal meeting of members to discuss a way forward and arrange the calling of an EGM.

Other things to be aware of are:

The current Trustees of the Lease have given notice of their wish to step down and need to be replaced ASAP.

Currently there is a Slalom event in the BC calendar for the 8/9th July.

I’m proposing either the evening of Friday 9th June or Saturday 10th June as potential meeting dates on site at Jackfield. I appreciate it’s short notice, but it’s important that as many of us as possible can attend hence the choice of dates. Please advise which, if any are suitable.
